FIFA and Brazil combat piracy of intellectual property

FIFA and the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property will work together to fight piracy of intellectual property in advance of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The two organizations have agreed to develop a common strategy to fight the piracy, said Joseph Blatter and Jorge Ávila at a press conference in Zürich today.

According to these gentlemen, the focus with rather be on prevention rather than punishment.

Customs, the police and public prosecutors will work together with FIFA and the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property.
